I have finished the first battle at fort Condor, and that took, oh wow, half my money.

I don't think I did the exploit described in the guide well enough, I seem to recall these being dirt easy using it last time and that it meant I didn't have to grind for money....

I have made it out of the mines with tifa's new weapon and the dragonfire skill without the game crashing!

okay, learned flamethrower without even grinding for it, really wish I could save right now

Oh wait, I can just walk outside of the mine and save there, god damn it.

okay, this time I actually made sure to save before going into Mythril Mine

okay, I've started playing Final Fantasy VII again, Time to grind until I get that power for the enemy skill materia.

however, I'm not doing that stupid thing where you have to reduce an enemy to exactly 1/32nd of its health

Honestly, I would rather go with a straight turn-based system than this active time bullshit

Menuing should not be stressful

Also, whoever designed the targeting mechanics is an idiot, I have played a few jrpgs now, including multiple ones where you can and sometimes want to Target your own party members. and I have never accidentally targeted my own party before, but I've done it multiple times in this game because if somebody is close to an enemy to attack them while you are targeting an enemy, it changes the order the enemies are in so you can't run off muscle memory
