Pepeaderos are Amazonian trees that grow in places that flood during the rainy season. Their fruits fall in the water, feeding small fishes, who are eaten by bigger fishes. Their fruits feed people too. W/climate change & drought, these trees' seedlings could use a helping hand thru the dry season. Families adopt a certain number of seedlings & care for them until the land floods. Caring for trees that take care of fish and people alike! #FundacionOmacha #Amazonas

Let me introduce you to a great fruit of the Amazon known in Colombian Spanish as copoazú (Theobroma grandiflorum). These pictures come from Fundación Omacha's Twitter feed. (Alas, many orgs still are only there) It's related to cacao (Theobroma cacao), which gives us chocolate. (As the third picture says, you can also get chocolate from copoazú)
