#GameHunting

Friend recommended a shop in the underground mall underneath Taipei City Mall, accessible via MTR station. Wow! Like a museum where you can touch stuff. Unlike shops in Hong Kong, this one is big enough to walk around in and get up close to the items. #retrogaming #gamehunting

I will will continue this post as a thread of all (or most) of the items I bought on the game hunting trip to Kyushu, Japan. I will try to list the prices of the items as well so you can get an idea what is being asked for which items. #gamehunting #retrogaming #hardoff

Mandrake in #fukuoka chuo-ku. Last few shops. Did not have much game-wise, but I did find the running-gag #saturn game with girls and rock, paper & scissors and got talked into buying it by my friend. #gamehunting #kyushu #retrogaming

#hardoff Yamada, #kyushu. Not as much as Shingu, but some special stuff. Hello Kitty #dreamcast, #superfamicom Box in very good condition! Really not buying anything this time. #gamehunting #retrogaming

#hardoff Shingu, #kyushu. They have a LOT here, showcase full of #shmups. Al dunes for #sgx, Magical Chase, Download 2 and lots more. Also a lot of non-showcase #pcengine games, but most over ¥3000, not in my budget. My friend Shahmups is buying Aldynes and a few more. #gamehunting #retrogaming

Stopped at a #hardoff in Nakama on our way to Fukuoka. Nothing much here, just one super Famicom in the junk section. They did have a huge Metroplex! #kyushu #gamehunting #transformers

Last day, 1st stop. A rebranded Mangasoukou. Some nice stuff in the showcase, not a lot of PC-Engine games. #gamehunting #retrogaming

Last stop was Mandrake in same building. Forgot to take photos so I only have this. My friend (let's call him) Shmuppy, brought this to me and I went for it, even though the sticker said it was damaged. Stally found a unopened #pcengine mini and a Game&Watch game he wanted. #gamehunting #kyushu

We drove the final Atrecht of the day to Kitakyushu to check some shops in a anime theme mall. First stop was the #surugaya. We all found some good games there. Friend wanted to buy the #pcengine mini, but it was damaged. I did get some games :)). #gamehunting #retrogaming #kyushu

A Combo-off, didn't seem like they had any interesting, but when we hit the junk section I found a Core Grafx II proces at ¥11000 at the back of a shelf. Nice score! Some more interesting stuff was a Hitachi Saturn, ASCII Famicom arcade joystick and a 64DD mouse. #pcengine #gamehunting

We found Garou in the showcase, one of the games a friend was looking for. But price was not good enough for him and no haggling here. I decided to use my 2 of 3 allowed expensive purchases here on Alzadick and Gate of Thunder, both were ¥11000. #pcengine #gamehunting #retrogaming #shmups

After getting withdrawal symptoms we drove 1.5hrs to Oita for a Mangasoukou. Big one, but the games section was not very big. They had really nice home-made signs for the different sections though. Check them out. And.... I made my expensive purchases of the trip. #gamehunting #kyushu

First and only #gamehunting stop for today on our way to Mt. Aso. This one is called Gurugurusoko. Very big, butore focus on other toys. I did get a white NeoGeo joypad, because I didn't know it was USB.... *doh*. It was only ¥1650 though. #retrogaming

Another bookoff but also nothing interesting here. Am I getting hardoff-fatigue? #gamehunting #retrogaming

Another local shop, almost nothing interesting for me because they don't have any PC-Engine games and hardware. There was a sign though saying they will buy #pcengine mini for ¥100000. So the one we saw for 105k which my friend passed on was actually a very good price. #gamehunting

Next was a local 2nd hand games/cards/toys shop. Nothing interesting here for us. They had cases on the shelves with printed covers. Displaying it was out of stock and how much they were willing to pay for a good one if you wanted to sell. #gamehunting #kumamoto #kyushu

Hit a #hardoff with a book off next to it. The bookoff didn't have much, Hard-Off was also meager. But one of my friends bought a PSVR1 as "JUNK" for ¥2200. Works, but the cushion foam was no longer good. #gamehunting #retrogaming

Cossed water with ferry and reached #kumamoto. First stop #surugaya, picked up some cheap #pcengine games and #saturn Bomberman. They had some nice things, even a #snes development cart, would have loved to get it, but €235 was a bit too much. The game on the cart was SDF1 Grand Prix. #gamehunting

Last #gamehunting spot for today. Biggest #hardoff I have been to, 4-in-1. They had a lot of stuff, even some exotic stuff. Of course, just after I finally decided to buy the yellow switch lite (for my daughter!) this one has a bunch of them. Price is a bit higher though,so my buy was still good.
