"Hostility never persuades." A variant I've heard is that you can't insult someone into being wrong. #ldsconf #generalconference

One of my friends likes to say "need is a strong word". Sometimes we don't know what we actually need, and we confuse wants for needs. It's good for all of us to be self-reflective to tell the difference between the two. #ldsconf #generalconference

Challenges are meant as opportunities to grow. Opting for the easiest life robs you of the opportunity to be your best you. #ldsconf #generalconference

Justice and mercy must be in balance. Leaning too far towards one extreme or the other means you will lose yourself. #ldsconf #generalconference

There is more that unites us than divides us, across cultures and faith traditions. This is what makes the United States unique, an ideal that embraces this pluralism in the most radical way ever in human history. #ldsconf #generalconference

C'mon, guys. It's been long enough that the lyrics should be on the screen when you're expecting us to sing along. #ldsconf #generalconference

We're given opportunities in this life and are expected to rise to the occasion, but we have additional opportunities in the next life. God wants us to succeed, and He will not set us up to fail. #ldsconf #generalconference

One of the best examples of Jesus is that he went out and did the work. He even received baptism not because he needed it, but because he had to be the example. "I am not above the law" is a powerful statement. #ldsconf #generalconference

Remember that Moses called himself "slow of speech" which has been interpreted to mean he had a stutter. He still went on to accomplish great things. #ldsconf #generalconference

We have a very radical form of universalism in which not only do we believe all can be saved, but all are entitled to the direct light of God. As a "peculiar people", we should embrace it! #ldsconf #generalconference

Today was day 1 of the worldwide conference[1] for my church. With all the madness in the world I wanted someone to justify my outrage. I hoped for some heat 🔥. What I got instead was light ☀️. I was reminded to do the most good I can, to make the most of what God has given me, to love people, even difficult ones. There is a lot of genuine awfulness out there, but light overcomes the darkness; good, the evil; love, the hate. I needed that reminder.

"This Jesus should not be a fictional Jesus, or a simplistic Jesus, or a bodiless Jesus, or a casual Jesus, or an unknown Jesus, but a glorified, omnipotent, resurrected, exalted, worshipful, powerful, Only Begotten Son of God, who is mighty to save. And as a young child in the Philippines compellingly testified to me one day, 'We are worth saving!'”— Sister Amy A. Wright #GeneralConference

“Easter allows us to honor both the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ and the literal and joyous Resurrection of Him. Our hearts are heavy as we imagine the Savior’s suffering in the garden and upon Calvary, but our hearts rejoice as we envision the empty tomb and the heavenly decree, ‘He is Risen!’" — Elder Gary E. Stevenson #GeneralConference #GreaterLove

Really leaning hard into "a hospital for sinners, not a rest home for saints". We should be united around a common sense of purpose, a knowledge that we're imperfect but trying, and not any other attribute. Diversity in the Church is good! #ldsconf #generalconference
