I just started #hellbound on #netflix and I really dislike that trope of the crazy conspiracy theory YouTube channel, that happens to be right.
In a time, where fake news and conspiracy theories are running wild, this is IMHO lazy writing and gives real conspiracy theorists credibility by making them relatable. At least use the opportunity to teach the audience how to fact check. Let the protagonists check their sources and come to the conclusion, that there might be something to it.
I just started watching season 2 of #Hellbound and I'm reminded how well realised the setting is; it does a great job of examining how adding one blatantly supernatural phenomena to the real world can bend society & culture around it. Deeply chilling but very compelling.
Episode 2 takes it up another notch, with a spectacularly well-shot action sequence and some genuinely moving personal interactions, while the moving parts of the conspiracy start to mesh around the central characters..
