If #Canada wanted actual 'Generational' #infrastructure we would begin building a publicly owned national high-speed rail network... with the key being that the actual construction is performed by a crown corporation rather than being sub-contracted to the private sector. This would allow the knowledge and skills learned with each link to be retained for the benefit of Canadians, saving billions when compared to tendering each link for private sector bids.
Furthermore I'd like to see an 'insurance' policy to prevent later governments from privatising the network by giving every Canadian a share in the company, rather than it being owned by a Government who could later sell it, with those shares; having a fixed value of $1 and being non-transferable.
