So today I stumbled across a whiteboard implementation for #IRC I am actually seriously considering adding this in @pidgin 3.0 because we have a bunch of whiteboard code but don't currently have a way to test it.. Thoughts?

So we had some issues in that Ibis 0.13.0 release which we've fixed in the 0.13.1 release!

Hey everyone, we just released version 0.13.0 of Ibis our #IRCv3 library that we've built for the #IRC support in @pidgin 3!
The big feature in this release is that we're parsing formatting and making it available to users of the library so they can display formatted messages. See the screen shot for what that looks like in Pidgin 3 experimental 2!!

So @pidgin 3.0 Experimental 2 is due out on Monday and we realized we could probably sneaking message formatting in for #IRCv3 in the last few days.
This still needs some work, but check out the Pidgin 2 vs 3 handling of message formatting...
I thought we fixed the italics stuff in Pidgin 2 awhile, but apparently not.

Added typing indicators to comlink recently, also revamped the way we display the last read marker that @reykjalin added. Oh and refactored the whole UI into the libvaxis framework I've been working on.

3. TikTok
4. Spotify (I use BandCamp and SoundCloud because they have all the interesting music. I never have had a thing for cherry-picked and uninteresting music)
5. Discord
6. TOR (As of today I haven't been in a situation where I need to buy narcotics or illegal sexual services or associated oriented material from Internet)
Projects touching this topic that I find interesting and trying out once in a while.
1. IRC 3.0: think time would right to establish wide IRC 3.0 network. There's a niche for this. I hope someone like OFTC or Libera Chat would start providing this for developers interested both having projects there or help to establish IRC 3.0.
2. Try Quiet: Look at https://tryquiet.org/. It's not yet stable enough for production but this could be a great alternative for Signal group chats for instance.

Why don't we use HTTP/1's Upgrade mechanism to switch from #HTTP to another protocol like #SMTP or #IRC? Especially IRC, the only HTTP Upgrade related in #IRCv3 is #WebSockets. Why not do direct IRC for fun? I mean one of the examples in RFC 2616 section 14.42 is IRC/6.9! :satrithink:
