Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) uses Zero Knowledge proofs, but this requires your code to be compiled to WASM. Since it's math, I don't really understand it. 😅

Was den #Internetcomputer angeht bin ich mittlerweile bei einem Fazit angelangt: Wenn man den ganzen #Crypto Hypesprech (revolutionary! changes everything! yadda yadda) weg lässt bleibt eine ganz coole #serverless Lösung über die ein paar interessante Konzepte verfolgt ("orthogonal persistence", Datenbankfunktionen als smart contract etc.).

Ich denke das größte Problem das dieses eigentlich coole Projekt hat ist, dass es das ganze #crypto Volk anzieht und damit den Brunnen vergiftet...

Heute war ein wunderbar ruhiger #Donnerstag auf der Arbeit, so dass ich tatsächlich mal Zeit hatte mich intensiv weiter mit der #internetcomputer Geschichte zu befassen und ein bisschen Code in der lokal Testumgebung zu schreiben.

Mein Fazit bisher: Auch wenn ich mir bei dem ganzen drumherum noch nicht so sicher bin ob das ein "seriöses" Projekt oder nur der übliche #Cryptoscam ist (zumindest zieht es das entsprechende Publikum an), macht das programmieren in dem Ökosystem tatsächlich spaß ...

Sooo, Frau und Kind sind im Bett und ich habe Zeit mich etwas mit dem #internetcomputer zu beschäftigen und werkeln mich gerade durchs Tutorial. So wie ich es bisher sehe ist das ganze - wenn man mal den Web3 Hype abzieht - eine wirklich nette #serverless Hostinglösung mit - vereinfacht gesagt - integrierter "Datenbank" ... mal schauen welche Erkenntnisse mir heute noch zufliegen

@codesmith don't hate me for saying it, but #blockchain is the obvious answer.

I've often wondered if one could write an #ActivityPub server on the #InternetComputer; which is basically #AWS, but instead of paying Bezos you pay the decentralized organization of $ICP node hosts that run your "canisters". It serves HTTP requests which would seem to be all you need to be on the #fediverse, but I'm certain no one would federate with it unfortunately.

Just wrapped up a small consulting gig I did last year, where I got to review some #motoko application code for the DFINITY #internetcomputer.
This was pro-charity-work, yielding $1050 for Doctors without Borders.
