On my walk home last night, I also stopped by Maeno Kumano Jinja, a local shrine in Tokyo’s Itabashi Ward, and took a few photos. I’ll probably come back one more time later this year, in order to capture some more details, and maybe at a different time of day.
Full-size, unedited iPhone shots.

On my favorite topic of neighborhood shops in Itabashi, here is another photo set. The twist with today’s series is that shops no. 2 and 3 have vanished in the meantime (and no. 1 seems in danger) - they had to make way for new shiny buildings that completely lack their predecessors’ nostalgic flair. 😢
1. Alfa Cafe
2. Komaya Retro Games
3. Kenzō Taiyaki
4. Butcher Uchiyama

In my occasional series, “On my way back home from work”, here are four new photos of neighborhood shops taken this evening. All in Tokyo’s Itabashi Ward, between Itabashi-Honchō and Motohasunuma Stations along the Mita Line. 🚉
1. “Tatsumi Fancy Goods”
2. Ohara Greengrocer
3. Funayo Eel Restaurant
4. Hirako Optometrist and Watch Shop

For my occasional “Returning from work” series, I walked through Itabashi-juku tonight, which is the western part of the stretch between Shin-Itabashi and Itabashikuyakushomae Stations on the Mita Line. Full-size iPhone shots. Some nice old shops in that area.😍
