So, they weren't allowed to see evidence that would have undermined a key part of Phelan's defence that he incompetently fired a bullet into a man's head unintentionally (the rifles in his bedroom showing he was familiar with guns).
But- irrelevant "evidence" which was bound to create prejudice against the dead man (the video on his phone of a dog killing a kitten) was OK?
