How prescient of the to have as the giveaway for this year's . The figurine even includes Yamamoto's training javelin.

I expect next year's race, t-shirt and race medal to lean heavily into the back-to-back win.

Another 5k finished. We've done 11 of the 12 races, only missing one because we were out of town that weekend.

I still hate that short but super steep hill around mile 2.5, but the reward for getting to the top is that you get taiko drummers and folklorico dancers!

When I crossed the finish line, I did the in style!

Love the medal, which is the front of the 2024 championship ring.

Cool down lap on the dirt track for racers. I always try to get a picture on the grass now that they're not as militant about not touching it.

This year's medal is the foam finger! 2/2

Not so much a Sunset Run with a 5pm start time for the 5k. It's one of only two 5k races I do now, and this one is so challenging with all the hills in the parking lot.

Still cursing the race designers who continue to put a super steep hill at mile 2.6 of a 5k. Sadists. 1/2

Sunset run indeed for ! Great view of Downtown L.A. from the top.

The first mile and a half of the 5k were rough but the last half of the race actually wasn't too bad. I even managed to run up that sadistic hill at mile 2.5.

Lots of goodies after the race.

And I was iffy about the medal being a stadium seat when they showed the medal reveal but I had no idea the seat opens up. How cool!
