Terrible tragedy for many after the night club fire in Switzerland. Criminal charges of negligence are being brought but I am wondering how a night club (in a town that has a drinking age of 16) could have had a fire safety assessment pass where there was only one way in and out down a narrow stair case and will the authorities regulating licenced premises and owners be included in prosecutions and reparations for this tragedy? #cransmontana #leconstellation

The Swiss ski resort bar fire, which has killed at least 40 people, appears to have been a "flashover" (when hot smoke rises to the ceiling and everything in the room ignites almost simultaneously) started when NYE sparklers lit the acoustic foam paneling on the ceiling. Reminds me of W Warwick, RI.

Footage from #LeConstellation bar in #CransMontana shows that only one guy tried to extinguish the fire on the ceiling. All the others in the clip are smartphone lemmings who rather film what's going on than actually do something to address the danger.

This behaviour is part of yesterday's tragedy that has shaken the Valais region to the core.
