I’ve lived in #Uzupis for almost four years and wondered why the number 11 city bus only went through Užupis in one direction.
Last month a friend who’d interviewed long-time residents of the neighbourhood explained why.
Užupis has a steep hill rising from the angel. The bus used to go down this hill; in winter conditions buses lost control more than once, skidding down the hill and into buildings.
So the buses go up the hill instead of trying to control their descent. #Vilnius #Lithunia
