Of all the possible inspirations for #LucyDarling as a character, I was not expecting one of them to be #JohnDeLancie playing Q in #StarTrek.

That whole interview is just wild. Not many people go from being homeless at 16 to a Guinness record for holding fire in their teeth to a brilliant magician to one of the best crowd work comedians in the world. She had so many breaks along the way, but the real cause of her success is so much preparation and grit and retrospection and appreciating other people.
Amazing seeing #CarissaHendrix go on and on about the deep philosophical underpinnings of her act as #LucyDarling and the direction of the cultural zeitgeist and emotional needs of people these days, and the magician dudes interviewing her have absolutely no idea what to say other than "wow, how do I follow that?"
I've hear comedians complain about #MrsMaisel because she is constantly going on dramatic improvised rants instead of honing an actual set, so it is delightful hearing about how the very first time #CarisaHendrix did #LucyDarling she had one of those moments of brilliance where all her preparations went out the window and the character just took over.
Wow, #CarisaHendrix is so hilarious as #LucyDarling. I too think humans are the worst animals.
