Any other mac users experience this? I have an external WD HD on my Mac. One partition is Time Machine, and another is just external storage. Whenever I boot up my Mac (and sometimes when I'm just trying to do something on my Mac), the external drive runs and the system beach-balls until the external drive finishes making read/write noise. It's as if it's trying to go to the external drive for system-level stuff, and that blocks all other operations. #macproblems

my 2014 MacMini is still clinging to life.

Despite rescuing it a few times recently it now has new problems
1. It won't shut down, just hangs forever.
2. TimeMachine stopped backing up 10 days ago.

any sensible solutions / ideas?

My Christmas wish is that photos on my Remote Desktop preview someday. I have literally thousands of photos over many years to pick from and seeing them before I do so seems beneficial.

Sometimes MacOS glitches and trackpad velocity and multi-touch stops working, and the keyboard layout reverts back to US, so half my keys no longer type the right thing. It only happens once every couple of months, which isn't frequent enough for me to remember how I solve it (likely by having to reboot). #MacProblems

So do I use Migration Assistant to import a load of unneccesary crud (but have everything) or do I start off clean and import and install as and when necessary? #macproblems
