Completed day two of teaching my first @mikrotik #MTCNA class. It was a lot of fun, I had great students, and I’m completely exhausted. T-15h until the final day begins.

Pro tip: Indian food for lunch is not a good idea if one wants to keep a good pace in the afternoon. I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s looking for a nap right now.

For those wishing to learn more about the basics of I wrote a book. We hand these out to students when they’re attending our Training courses. But it’s still a very useful reference to have even if you’re not quite ready yet to take that first step towards becoming a MikroTik Certified Engineer. It’s not available from Amazon, instead you can order it direct from my good friends at . linitx.com/product/mikrotik-mt

@mikrotik Thanks for the reminder! We’ve been so busy getting the new website running I forgot to mention that we’ve put on a meeting in Prague. Back where it all began at the Hotel Duo. The first MUM was on Jan 19th 2006 at this very hotel! It’s been 5 years since the last one and so we decided it was time we had another! Visit mtpc.world to buy tickets. We are also delivering training before the meet up!

My job as a Trainer is still safe 😂. I asked a question that could possibly be found in the v6 test questions pool. It’s a multiple answer question listing some various different packages as options including ‘routing’. The correct answer is that the ‘routing’ package is NOT required as static routing is already included in the system and should not therefore be selected as a package to be installed. (‘routing’ is ONLY for dynamic routing like OSPF,BGP etc)

Screenshot of ChatGPT showing a VERY wrong answer to my question as follows:
“For static routing functionality, additionally to the RouterOS 'system' package, you will also need the following software package”

“For static routing functionality in RouterOS, you'll need the 'routing' package. This package includes the necessary tools and features to configure static routes on MikroTik routers. So, make sure you have the 'routing' package installed along with the 'system' package for a complete set of routing capabilities”
