We need your help. In the January state budget proposal, the Governor proposed $33.2 million in cuts to the California Nutrition Incentive Program (CNIP), which had been allocated $35 million over 3 years in the previous state budget. If adopted, these cuts will permanently end the Market Match program which provides CalFresh/EBT customers with extra grocery money for California-grown fruits and vegetables at farmers' markets and farm stands across the state. #MarketMatch has operated successfully for years and is a crucial safety net program for hungry families and for California's small and midsize farmers.

COVID-19 safety: Due to the close proximity of volunteers and staff for the length of the farmers' market day, all volunteers must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination (2 shots, 1 booster).
Our CalFresh community is as diverse as the city of Sacramento! We are looking for bilingual volunteers who can communicate in Arabic, Cantonese, Farsi, Mandarin, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
Today, south Sacramento's Florin Certified Farmers' Market hit a major milestone: we rolled out a 3rd EBT machine to process CalFresh transactions!
Why is this significant? It represents the incredible levels of demand from CalFresh customers for fresh food from CA's small farms. From Jan-Sep of this year, we've distributed $388k in CalFresh and #MarketMatch incentives at Florin alone! Every one of those dollars is addressing food insecurity while also supporting California's local economies.
