Thanks for all the good wishes! And thanks to NE Veterinary Hospital for getting us in at noon. #MaxTheDog is feeling a lot better. I expect this'll recur, though, as he had a similar back injury shortly after we adopted him early this year. One might hope with time he'll grow more careful, but never have I known a less cautious animal. That he survived as a stray is a miracle. #dogsofmastodon

You may remember #Maxthedog, adopted in April, ~ 1 year old. Turns out this little fellow got a Cairn Terrier pregnant before the foster system got hold of him and got him neutered. Four of his progeny are up for adoption, if you're in the Puget Sound area.

When we adopted Max (foreground in the first picture) six weeks ago, Marty (background) was a bit cool toward his new housemate. But now play is breaking out. #Maxthedog #Martythedog #DogsofMastodon

We think Max is about a year old and he appears to be a Maltese-Chihuaua mix. Marty, 3, stands behind him. His origins are also unknown but he likely contains Maltese and Poodle. Both are small (9 and 14 lbs.) whitish dogs.
