I don’t want to encourage medical providers to leave the US because I really do need you people. But Canada might be happy to have you and they won’t treat you like shit after going through years of training to be able to help your communities.
My little doctors office, and inclusive sliding scale clinic attached to the hospital, is heavily staffed with residents from Canada. (Meaning they’re doing their residency there.)
Every time I get a resident from Canada for an appointment I’m delighted, they are all wonderful. I was actually feeling guilty over the past few years that we have doctors from Canada when Canada needs them too.
But now maybe the tables will turn. Can the US garnish Canadian wages for unpaid student loans? Probably not.
