Revisiting this #ModelAircraft Sabre as it was removed from display due to decals deteriorating over the years. The Maintenance Hangar deemed it recoverable, so the strip-down has now commenced. The word is it will return to The Hangar in RCAF livery. - Stay Tuned https://www.flypastrush.com/post/photo-post-1-48th-academy-f-86f-sabre
Let the weekend begin! Jumped into the bench to mask off the #ModelAircraft Sabre canopies before dinner. Have a Slatted-wing and a Hard-wing F-86 on the go here… Looking forward to getting the paint gear spooled up on the weekend…if I can manage that 🤔
Late breaking news from the #ModelAircraft Factory: A USAF Sabre has joined the RCAF ranks to get a refresh on an badly aging finish. The Korean War era markings were peeling, so this jet has volunteered for an early Euro camouflage transformation as a Mk.5 joining his Mk.6 counterpart from 441 Squadron …Stay tuned for more
Meanwhile back at the #ModelAircraft Factory: Work starts up again on a couple of early RCAF jet examples that had been waiting for some attention. Sabre & Silver Star
The maintenance crew pulled together a great contrast shot here, with the first ever Hurricane we acquired in 1979 beside the latest 2025 example. Quite the historic day in The Hangar for us #ModelAircraft
The newly arrived Hurricane Mk.I flown by RCAF Ace William McKnight arrived for a photo shoot at The Hangar today. Quite the buzz with the crew here, as we haven't had an addition in a bit #ModelAircraft
As it turned out the photographer liked the look of this McKnight Hurricane Mk.I with the panels off for maintenance, so we did the photo shoot that way. Hope you like it #ModelAircraft
The Maintenance crew at The Hangar just found a little snag on the Hurricane they need to take care of pre-photo shoot. Apparently it won’t take them long to remedy. 🚧 Please Stand By 🚧 #ModelAircraft
This Weekend in The Hangar: The final installment of my Aggressor #ModelAircraft series is this 1/48th Academy F-14A Tomcat done up in a head-turning NSAWC Splinter scheme. The Academy kit provides challenges of its own but looks the part in the end (if you don't need flaps dropped on your Cat). See the build details at: https://www.flypastrush.com/post/flanker-cat-1-48th-academy-f-14a-tomcat
Scored another 28 year old kit on an eBay auction: the very first release of Airfix' superb #EnglishElectric #Lightning 😎
I'm guessing the decals aren't gonna be of much use anymore 😏

This Weekend in The Hangar: The Red Flag Aggressor schemes feature some nice desert tones to broaden the camouflage in your aircraft hangar. This 1/48th Kinetic F-21 Kfir #ModelAircraft kit builds up into an impressive and relatively accurate model of the Lion. See More at:

Cracked open another very challenging (and mixed media) vintage kit from my stash: the X-15A-2.
I vowed to never build another #SpecialHobby kit ever again -for instance because of these severely warped parts- but it's the only 1/48 X-15 available... So let's go 💪
