Winter Storm Friday - Saturday, Winter Storm Warning is in effect. Snow begins Friday morning into Friday afternoon from west to east. Wind gusts of 30 to 45 mph are expected into Saturday causing blowing and drifting snow. Whiteout conditions and power outages are possible. A snowfall map is shows of 8 to 12 inches at Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Ludington, Midland with 6 to 8 inches at Lansing with 4 to 6 inches at Jackson.

Winter Storm Friday - Saturday, Winter Storm Watch In Effect. Snow begins Friday morning into Friday afternoon from west to east. Wind gusts of 30 to 45 mph are expected into Saturday causing blowing and drifting snow. Whiteout conditions and power outages are possible. Most of the snowfall occurs Friday afternoon into Friday night, hazardous conditions are likely for the evening commute! Map of the potential of 6 or more inches highlights areas along and north of a Kalamazoo to Lansing line in the high category of greater than 70 percent, areas southeast fall in the medium category of 40 to 70 percent. Map of the potential of 12 inches of snow or more highlight portion of Clare County in the high category of 70 percent or more. Areas around a Grand Rapids to Alma line and north in the medium category of 40 to 70 percent, and areas to the south in the low category 10 to 40 percent.
