I think there is a good chance that a significant number of the instances in the #fediverse will end up self-segregating along race, language and other types of identities, geographies and affinities.

But unlike a school or a bus or all the other terrible types of segregation that exist and existed in "the real world", the fediverse doesn't restrict people to only one location in time and space.

There is no reason why people can't be on an Indigenous instance and on a French-language instance and a biking instance at the same time.

I think we should normalize this from the beginning.
