So, seeing the slash through the graffiti crown in the #NoKingsProtest logo feels _to me_ like a negation of #BIPOC people's right to consider themselves kinds, not of having a political king in our country. I don't have a lot of experience with crown logo & king movement, but it has clearly found its way into popular culture. 2/n

I'm a strong supporter of the #NoKingsProtest and attended on Saturday, but — having only visited the website late last week to confirm local event times — something about the logo gave me an uneasy feeling. It's been rolling around in the back of my mind all weekend. I think it's because the graffiti crown has a long history in black American culture (at least in my lifetime, though I'm very much an outsider looking in), especially in the art & music scenes. 1/n

I'm a little down I didn't get to the #NoKingsProtest yesterday nor go to the #prideparade today. I coulda driven but I would've had to walk from where I parked & I can't. I can't take my mobile scooter cuz I don't have a lift on my car. I need a foldable that I can tote round with me, I've seen em but they & the lifts cost so much 🥺 anyway, to to stay festive, I put my #pride flag in the window & a little one on my plant stand outside. #pridemonth2025
