enjoyed Tim Hopper's shout out to "programmed in TI-BASIC" at #normconf
I really need to watch the playlist of the NormConf22 talks, some interesting things here it seems.

Started looking at lightning talks from #normconf and from the first one (by @afioritto) I learnt about QUALIFY to filter results from a WINDOW function in SQL. Wish I knew this last year. Would have avoided a lot of ugly CTEs.
I attended #NormConf, expecting nothing.
I went away, delighted from a 15-hour conference that blew me away.
Great talks, great MCs, and even a live-band on zoom.
This recap by Vicki is enlightening!
Gotta respect someone that can accept a one-off:

Brilliant #NormConf talk and advice by @chrisalbon - and it was not about what I anticipated!
Got and have a watch because those will be 15 min well spent.
Quick blog post that recaps #NormConf and what I thought made it good from the perspective of running it.
We won't be doing it again, but hopefully this post gives people who are thinking about online conferences in 2023 some tools for planning good experiences. https://vickiboykis.com/2022/12/22/everything-i-learned-about-accidentally-running-a-successful-tech-conference/

Great post about #normconf, full of things that would've helped me out of imposter syndrome

I'm clearing my schedule tomorrow to make my way through the #NormConf talks, any suggestions on which to start with?
Just in time for the holidays: #NormConf talk recordings.
From @paniterka I learned that the dumbness of matplotlib's default API is an inheritance from MatLab, which is somehow reassuring.
Also, there is a ggplot style for it, so you can trick your judgemental mathematical friends into thinking that you use R.
So many inspiring presentations and memorable moments during last week’s #NormConf that I’ve been thinking about in the days since. Not the least of which was the YouTube live-caption error during the keynote that brought forth into this world the name Francis Crontab
Enjoyed how this #NormConf talk about “#data Ethics: the unsexy parts” by Rob Keyes nicely lays out day to day data ethics issues that are often ignored as time to devoted to sci-fi scenarios.
Reminds me of reading various “ethical use of AI guidance documents” in my last role and every one had quite a bit of cringe.
Another good #NormConf talk. My manager got me keeping a one-line "activity log" of non-BAU work a while ago. I've kept it up ever since. Useful to remember and show what you do outside of usual stats and reporting. https://youtu.be/HiF83i1OLOM
Very cool #NormConf talk by @jennybryan on good file naming. I've done something like this myself for a while and it's a big #productivity helper. This 5 minute talk will save many hours of time in the future. https://youtu.be/ES1LTlnpLMk
My #NormConf talk covered two frameworks -- pre-mortems and tracer bullets -- which can help us to tackle unknowns and move through the ML process faster 💫

My #normconf talk is up! Learn a bit about coffee tasting and how it can teach us to collect better data! https://youtu.be/GrQcVU-eapc
If you have a machine learning problem, if no one else can help, and if you have access to the AWS console, maybe you can use...one big machine.
