#Nt2t

@Steffensiegert

I just saw some posts from you on today's #NT2t chat on Twitter.

It's sad that it's ending after 10 years. I hope more will connect around hashtags like that here.

My focus is #YouthDevelopment #tutotmentor #birthtowork #poverty #collaboration #maps #socialcapital

So far I don't find many posts using those hashtags. I do find some with #nonprofit and #philanthropy

@dougholton @IleneF @edutooters

Thanks Doug for being my first follower here. I've been using Mastodon.cloud since 2017 and have about 250 followers, but I've not been able to access it for a few days, so I decided to open an account here.

I've been connected to many educators on Twitter since 2013 via and other groups.

Here's a blog article I wrote in March pointing to blogs being written during a learning event hosted by group. tutormentor.blogspot.com/2023/

Let's finish up with a challenge:
Write an outline for your academic subject to be offered on Twitter

A5 - I believe that there are extreme differences here. From my point of view, it is currently completely unthinkable in Germany that Twitter is used as part of teaching. That's why I can't answer this question

RT @stephwurking
Q5 - Describe how teachers can foster student voice and student choice on Twitter

I know it doesn't quite hit the question, unfortunately that's all I can offer

A4 Also with reference to the previous question, I'd like to renew the idea of a protected area. Social media could have a motivating effect per se. But social media simulators might also help. wakelet.com/wake/jtQQ3Hz4_sADx

Q4 - Identify the forms in which Twitter can boost student motivation

A3 - Unfortunately, I don't see many concrete possibilities, but I would be happy to receive input. In my view, students also have the right to work in a protected, non-public setting. There are possibilities for this. Twitter is not one of them

RT @stephwurking
Q3 - State one manner in which Twitter can be an effective platform for student collaboration.

A2 - A disadvantage is, of course, the tendency to always stay in one's own bubble. That in turn is also an advantage. You have to reflect on yourself and others much more critically. The impulses from , among others, are a valuable way of thinking outside the box

RT @stephwurking
Q2- Identify one benefit and one drawback Twitter poses as an Open Educational Resource

A1- For me, Twitter and here the is a great treasure trove. Material, discussions, new ideas and, if I ask for it, critical feedback. My teaching had changed a lot, also because of Twitter

RT @stephwurking
Q1- Specify how teachers might use Twitter to provide instruction and feedback

A4. I have to write down my working hours and I do it consistently. On one day it is more on the other I leave earlier or come later. There is no overtime in the home office, so that's when I finish. I really recommend keeping clean documentation. And of course

Q4: What tools do you use to organize yourself and your work and to take the pressure off yourself? What can you recommend?

If time is perceived as meaningful and profitable, then I believe the conflicts of the question do not arise at all

A3 Our students spend a not inconsiderable amount of time at school. At all-day schools, this can be between 21 and 32 hours per week. in my opinion, there needs to be a good reason for school to take up even more time.
---
RT @seni_bl
Q3: The topic of time management and self-care is also important for students. How do we bring this closer to them? Can you share any experiences or tips?

A2. My route is 50 kilometers. Therefore, I already have time to switch off. Radio, music, podcasts, or sometimes just silence. My „cool down“ time consequently takes place in the car

Q2: How much time do you plan for yourself as relaxation between work phases at school and at home? How do you organize this?

A1. I actually find it a relief. After the end of working hours, I make a clear cut. I can also only be reached by phone in an emergency or via Threema

Q1: Work and private life are blurring. We also do tasks from home. How do you perceive this - as a burden or a relief?

Oh my, there are so many. My children and I love Astrid Lindgren's books. Because of my subjects, I only had to deal with textbooks at school, but I loved the read-aloud contests
@seni_bl what's your favourite book?

A4: I have already written this in answer to the first question. We have a central office that examines textbooks. In addition to the technical expertise, there is also social and ecclesiastical expertise, so you can assume that all concerns are taken into account
