So #SearchOhio and #OhioLINK are coming back (supposedly) February 9th.

For those that don't know, these are Ohio's equivalent to Interlibrary Loan. They are respectively catalogs of all participating Ohio Public libraries and College/University libraries. Around May they were taken down as they were moving to a new OPAC system. They were supposed to be done by the end of August 2025.

As you can tell from the calendar, it's February 2026.

I thought just a few months was overly ambitious considering how long it took to get our single system's catalog into a new OPAC. And I was right.

Hopefully it does start working, as we've got a lot of people looking for old books that we don't carry.

The downside of a good budget. Gotta weed older books to make room for new ones.

*SearchOhio (The Ohio public library ILL consortium,) is being taken down from August 1st thru October 27th to upgrade it's OPAC and backend. OhioLINK (ditto but for Universities,) has been down since late May.

I've talked about this before, but OhioLINK and Search Ohio are going down because they're switching from Millennium/Encore to Alma. We finally got a timeframe. And oof.

End of May to end of October for Link and beginning of August to end of October for Search. Fun!

If you're unaware, OhioLINK and Search Ohio are Ohio's means to facilitate interlibrary loans. If you want a book and your system doesn't have it, you might be able to get it from one of any university (link) or public library (search) in the state. It's really neat and was the first of it's kind.
