The GraspOS Final Conference has officially wrapped up, and we’re grateful to everyone who contributed to two days of inspiring discussions on Opening Research Assessment.

Since the beginning of the project in 2023, GraspOS has worked to support policy reforms and build the foundations for a Responsible Research Assessment system that is aligned with Open Science. Over the two days of the Conference, discussions featured presentations of GraspOS results, invited talks, and expert panels covering critical areas such as open infrastructures for RRA, transparency and inclusivity of assessment processes, and the recognition of contributions to Open Science.

This session will delve into ways to make research assessment more transparent, inclusive, and aligned with the principles of responsible research evaluation. Speakers will present practical frameworks, institutional case studies, and community-driven pilots, demonstrating how infrastructures like the SCOPE+i Framework, together with co-creation processes, and policy reforms can open up assessment practices to better recognise diverse research contributions and value different contexts.

✨ Keynote announcement!
We’re excited to announce Maria Chiara Carrozza as keynote speaker at Opening Research Assesssment on Thursday, 13 November 2025 (9:45–10:45).

Maria Chiara Carrozza is a Full Professor of Bioengineering and Biorobotics in the Department of Psychology at the University of Milano-Bicocca, and served as President of the Italian National Research Council from 2021 to 2025.

Her keynote talk "Align, Act, Accelerate. A perspective on Open Science and Responsible Research Assessment" will focus on the report of the Commission Expert Group on the Interim Evaluation of Horizon Europe, which provides recommendations to maximise the impact of EU Research and Innovation programmes.

We’re thrilled to welcome Dr @lizziegadd as keynote speaker at Opening Research Assessment on Wednesday, 12 November 2025 (9:45–10:45).

As Head of Research Culture & Assessment at Loughborough University, Vice Chair of #CoARA, and Chair of the #INORMS Research Evaluation Group, Lizzie actively contributes to international discussions on responsible research assessment. In her keynote, “Should we be assessing openness openly or at all?”, she will explore the unintended consequences of current assessment reforms and how we can build fair, inclusive systems that truly incentivise Open Science.

Posters will be selected through an open, transparent peer-review process.
