I made good use of my last day off (and the kids being back at school) and did most of the Britannia Winter Trail, just over 13km! #OttSki

With snow (barely) in the forecast, my hope for the winter is we get a decent sized early fall that sticks around for the season, without any disappointing full melts in the middle. #OttSki

Last (maybe? 9° Thursday!) #OttSki of the season. 20.5km. Photo is from where I decided to head back towards home.

The Ottawa West Winter Trail is in really good shape once I got there. Benefit of being away from the river I think. Once the Stage 2 West LRT opens it'll be readily accessible from Moodie Station.

We got out to Britannia Coffee House by #OttSki, and weren't the only ones!

Conditions are great where the trail is sheltered from the wind and a real slog where the wind has created giant snow dunes.

Fun way to spend an afternoon without the kids!

Also walked to go skating at the neighbourhood rink with my older two kids. Looks like the #OttSki conditions aren't terrible....but I think my legs have had enough for the day so I won't do all 4 winter activities 😅

In the last 24hrs I've #FrostBike, #OttSki and #OttSkate. So happy for actual winter.

Conditions are better than reported. They are best on the MUP in front of Mud Lake and on the Watts Creek MUP (though no tracks set that far west). Worst part is the MUP across Britannia -- cut your own path through the park and along the foot of the point.

Went for a ski today and checked out the dome thing by the boat house. Pretty neat.
