撥開茫霧：垃圾焚燒背後的真相

三個彼此相隔千里的城市，居民長年深受同一件事荼毒：與垃圾焚化事業為鄰，每天吸入每一口空氣都是賭上健康。
於是乎這三個城市的居民決定自己站出來，協同GAIA（全球焚化替代方案聯盟）執行一項計畫：自己吸的空氣自己測！（小編亂翻譯）

計畫最後揭露了一個十分驚人（應該說驚嚇）的事實：不管是PM2.5或者是PM10在空氣中的平均濃度都遠遠超過（5-8倍）WHO（世界衛生組織）針對健康風險所建議的最高濃度。也就是照WHO的標準來看，這些居民的肺可能早就廢了。

Estudiantes del IES Palomeras-Vallecas presentan un estudio sobre la calidad del aire en la Junta Municipal de Puente de Vallecas 📊🫁🧫

En un ejercicio de compromiso medioambiental y rigor científico, estudiantes de 4º de ESO y docentes de los departamentos STEM del IES Palomeras-Vallecas han presentado ante la Junta Municipal de Puente de Vallecas los resultados de su investigación sobre la calidad del aire en el distrito.

Bajo el marco del proyecto STEMadrid, los jóvenes han analizado los niveles de partículas PM2.5 y PM10, fundamentales para entender los riesgos de salud respiratoria y cardiovascular en la zona (o agravamiento de patologías existentes). Las partículas en suspensión o material particulado (Particulate Matter) presentes en la atmósfera se componen de una mezcla compleja de aerosoles y sólidos microscópicos de distinto origen y composición y se catalogan en categorías según su diámetro.

I take part in the project luchtmeters (air measurers) have an indoor and outdoor PM2.5 sensor at home for the moment. You can see on both the outdoor and the indoor sensor when the neighbour fired up the woodstove.

Please, when the airmass is not moving, don't burn wood in a neighbourhood. You're gassing your neighbours in their own house!

A screenshot of the dashboard for the outdoor sensor. It shows a timeline with measurements every 15 seconds over a period of 2 days. Most of january 25 was relatively OK, with some green and yellow dots and an average of about 34 microgram per cubic meter. In the evening there's a strong uptick into the red zone, followed by a plateau concentration around 55 microgram per cubic meter. On janauary 26 at around 6am you see another sudden rise to plateau at about 90 microgram per cubic meter, and the color of the dots is dark red. Then around noon it peaks at around 110 microgram per cubic meter with purple dots. After that the concentration drops linearly back to about 60 microgram per cubic meter around 4 o'clock in the afternoon.A screenshot of the dashboard for the indoor sensor, covering the last 10 hours of measurements. Measurements happen every two minutes. The concentration start at 25 microgram per cubic meter at 6 am. It then rises to 49 microgram per cubic meter around noon to then drop again to 34 microgram per cubic meter around 4 o'clock. The latest reading of 34 is shown in big green letters above the curve.
