Use the 4-dimensional algorithm. All of the computer people will love you for multiplying by 32. In C.
But not as much as they will love you for transmitting the unshifted value and doing the division on the ground station; and getting a whole 5 more insignificant bits of not-very-close-to-π.
You can even pre-build-in an interesting bug where the sensors get used in a non-random pattern because the number of sensors and 4 are not relatively prime.
Yes, you could do that with the 2-dimensional algorithm. But that's no fun, is it?
