yesterday I was doing a quick video for work and wanted to use my cool mic for voice over but spent 20 minutes troubleshooting why I had no audio signal in GarageBand or my audio interface.

After unplugging and replugging in everything for the second time, I realized I hadn’t plugged in power for the audio interface…

In my defence, the interface draws USB power from my computer so it had lights on. The USB power, though, wasn’t enough to send 48V power to the mic.
