I am almost at the finish line with my Master of Educational Neuroscience, with two subjects left.

Today is a rough one. Self-paced study gives flexibility but also isolation. No classmates to bounce ideas off. No real-time lecturer support. I can reach out and they reply, but when you’re drowning in ethics protocols and lit review expectations, it’s easy to feel alone.

I didn’t realise how complex ethical research really is. And lit reviews? Turns out they’re more than a quick scan and summary. They take hours. Days. Depth I wasn’t ready for.

I know I’ll get there. This feeling will pass. But today I’m questioning if I’ll ever reach the end. I still have to do a research project after this unit. I don’t work. I don’t know people. How will I even do the research?
