I am wondering if a hard fought Sanders presidency is not the desired outcome for the US oligarchs

Polls show a clear desire for systemic change in the US. Currently that energy is absorbed by the Sanders campaign

If he wins this energy will dissipate - at least for a while

Now Sanders as president would certainly redefine US ideas of electability and platform, but would almost certainly maintain the status quo - all his major proposals are entirely dependent on the
House.
And the House shows no indication of supporting any of Sanders' ideas

If on the other hand Sanders loses or is cheated out of the nomination or presidency the energy of his supporters may well spill out of the contained and controllable sphere of electoral politics and into other areas of society where it may be very hard to control
