A quick thought that might be useful for those attending #RailsConf despite their recent announcement (because it seems they don't offer refunds on tickets! 😒):
Perhaps there could be some chants of “Trans lives matter" or “Protect trans kids" interrupting DHH. Hell, why not some "no profits from Nazis” in there too, given his interviewer is from Shopify.
Don't make it pleasant for them. Find some like-minded folks and shout them down together.
Can't say enough about all that Ruby and Rails have done for my career. I am a Rubyist for life. But: Ruby is bigger than Rails, and Rails is bigger than DHH. Today's #RailsConf announcement from Ruby Central makes me sad and angry. Maybe Ruby and Rails need to be bigger than @rubycentral.
