Quite simply, #RedZone's developer wasouted not merely for violating #SecondLife users' privacy, but for being an actual criminal. LL simply couldn't stomach the PR ramifications of condoning this stuff anymore. They had a PR fiasco on their hands, and they needed to prevent it. Also, LL's terms and their #SecondLife terms need work w.r.t. their clauses pertaining to user #privacy. For instance, "user content" is construed VERY widely.
This is a bit of a grey area, and perhaps someone like @maxschrems could weigh in. Then, you have stores that deploy scripts to detect whether you're someone else's alt (the most "courteous" ones demand that you be subjected to such scanning or risk being ejected); scripts that will eject you if, say, your phone rings while you're in there and go AFK. Years ago, there was the #RedZone scandal, which was eventually dealt with, but what did it take for them to do something?
