Update from SB County OEM: Evacuation Warnings issued for the Refugio Fire have been CANCELLED for the areas of Refugio Rd & Venadito Canyon Rd. Residents should take caution if returning home as emergency personnel continue working in the area. Remain vigilant of changing conditions.

The fire is holding at 86 acres & is now 60% contained, per the Los Padres National Forest on X. Firefighters are continuing to secure the edge however the process is time-consuming due to steep slopes & numerous fingers along the fire perimeter.

The fire is holding at 86 acres and 0% containment, per Los Padres National Forest. Aircraft have been working the fire, and dozers are putting in line in Venadito Canyon. This is one drainage to the east of Refugio Canyon. The forest says the fire has been moving NE into the Sherpa Fire scar from 2016 on the north end.
