When we got stranded first time, we were disappointed to try AAA’s promise of #RoadsideService for bicycles, only to experience—after long hold times and long waits— local AAA towing contractor had “no bike rack, and no way to haul a bike." Sheesh! What we did next time, with excellent results (unlike AAA) was call our ex, who was happy to help immediately. In Monterey County, you can also sign up for Emergency Ride Home for specific circumstances (see section 13 of our countywide bicycling resources directory - https://bikemonterey.org/resources/bicycle-shops-in-monterey-county).
