Because Broadcom migrated SaltStack over to their legacy IP only infrastructure, the SaltStack team cannot provide IPv6 support for their packages anymore… great.
At least the Salt team did their best, pointed to their air-gapped environment documentation.
Fuck you Broadcom.
@DaleHassinger I know this is a super old post, but I generally use Mastodon to post links to updates around #SaltProject just as an extra channel of info sharing.
New blog post for Salt Project: POP and Idem Projects Will Soon be Archived
POP and Idem projects have been in maintenance mode since the acquisition of VMware by Broadcom. Now the projects are considered unmaintained, and are lined up to be archived. All projects will remain public, read-only OSS repositories available under the Apache v2 licenses for anyone who would like to maintain their own forks.

Since Broadcom broke the Salt repositories, you cannot install updates on Debian/Ubuntu anymore unless you have legacy IP connectivity somehow.
The Salt Project is now using packages.broadcom.com to serve their repos which is available over legacy IP only 👌
The Salt Project turned off an important subdomain (repo.saltstack.io), they didn’t announce it properly and now lots of people are complaining that they cannot provision hundreds of servers anymore.

It’s soo on-brand for Salt again…

I totally understand why large FOSS projects have issue templates and stuff, but having to take 10 minutes to fill it out for something that's as unambiguous as "mount.fstab_present should add the string 'overlay' to its list of special filesystems and thus match by name instead of device" just led me to not open an issue at all. :(
Maybe I'll get to it later.
Oh wow, after seeing https://saltproject.io/blog/the-great-salt-module-migration/ I just looked through https://github.com/salt-extensions/community-extensions-holding/ . Ouch.
