Tift Merritt is an American singer-songwriter who was born in Athens, Georgia, and raised in nearby Decatur. She has been performing music since she was a teenager, and her style is often described as country-folk or rockabilly. Her songs have a strong influence of classic country and soul music, and she has been compared to artists such as Dolly Parton and Aretha Franklin. Merritt has released five studio albums, with her most recent being "The Wanderer" in 2019.

#IronAndWine's recent new single, "You Never Know," actually isn't that bad. I am a big fan of his early albums and his bootlegs, later released as the Archive Series, but is more recent albums, really everything that came after The Shepherd's Dog [his last good album] (with the exception of the Archive Series, but those are very early bootlegs), has been awful.
