Wednesday June 25: 2,870 rice meals, 110 pots, 47 tents & more!

"The last 10 days have been extremely horrifying with the murder of our beloved Mosab Emad Ali. Mosab was the first person to work with us on the Sameer Project before it was even founded back in March 2024. Mosab was determined to do everything in his ability to not only provide aid but also mental health support for his people. His loss is a loss for Palestine and for humanity.

A few days after his death, the Refaat Alareer camp faced an attempted attack and the roads to the camp were blocked by thugs for 3 days (still ongoing). It has been very stressful for the South team and the camp residents. And an internet blackout lasted half of the last 10 days to make things even more stressful.

Despite all this horror, our incredible ground team managed to achieve so much! May God protect them and give them ease."

"On June 15th, we lost one of the most beautiful people we have ever met and our valued team member Mosab, who was killed by the Israeli occupation in an airstrike. All of our work for the next period will be dedicated to his memory. Mosab was a beautiful soul who only wanted to help others and do good for his homeland and his people of Palestine. We love you Mosab and will never forget you, and nothing will ever be the same without you."

"Organizations like the ICRC, UNRWA, the WHO, and MSF are typically in charge of large scale medical projects that would aim to minimize outbreaks of communicable diseases. But with their limited operating capacity, groups like The Sameer Project have picked up the slack. In the past 10 days we have purchased medication worth 20,000 shekels for scabies and wound care campaigns, via bank transfer, equaling nearly $6,090. The team then hosted Medical Days at various camps to treat skin diseases that are rampant in Gaza due to the overcrowding and lack of hygiene. We treated 400 cases at Al-Qadisiyah, in Mawasi Khan Younis and 200 cases at the UNRWA clinic in Al-Attar, namely for scabies, and distributed 110 doses here."

May 20th: New family, medical updates, vegetable parcels and more!

"Speaking of distributions, we surprised the ground team and camp residents with vegetables parcels. Gaza is in a famine and most have not tasted fresh food in a long while. Flour and rice are incredibly hard to come by and vegetables prices have skyrocketed. Our team does a lot of manual labor and our camp residents are among the sick and injured that need healing. They needed something nutritious. We purchased 70 bags filled with an assortment of veggies, 25 for our camp and the rest for our team in the North and South. The deal we negotiated was half cash (35% commission) and half bank transfer (10% commision), 5,135 shekels each payment costing a total of $3,575 and an additional $154 for labor."
