Then there's the clue to 37 Accross, "Scrub spots, for short". SPOILER... Stop reading if you don't want the answer. SPOILER... The answer is "ORS". Even knowing the answer, it took me a minute to figure out the connection to the clue. I guess it's fair, but I thought it was an extremely difficult clue.

I tried the Wall Street Journal Feb 19, 2025 crossword. Got about 75%, but then stuck.
There's many clues where either you know the fact or you'll never get it (e.g. "Chief of the Iowa tribe until 1834"). I suppose this is fair for a challenging crossword.
There's many 2-word answers that aren't flagged in the clue. Is this fair or just lazy writing?

I have another free logic puzzle from Dell Penny Press for you in a PDF. I printed it and solved it with a pencil; it's nice to get away from the screens for a while.
I'd categorize this one as harder than it looks at first, but not as impossible as it seems at second. 😉

I discovered a website that has a huge library of Nonogram puzzles that you can play online and print on paper for offline play.
They take user submissions (and they pay submitters) - cool. However, when reading about that, the FAQ gave me the distinct impression the website owners don't investigate plagiarism claims, and in fact they tacitly encourage stealing from other sources as that's mostly how they have such a huge library of puzzles.

From a new best to a possible new worst. I struggled to get the 5 words, then I couldn't get one of the final 2 words. I resorted to using two hints, which I almost never do. After seeing the final solution, I realized I almost had it without hints.

I tried #Chessguesser today after long absence. Today's puzzle is tricky IMHO, although in hindsight, I can see the logic of the moves.
I ended with the classic Wordle-type scenario where I essentially got the solution, but I didn't have enough turns left to go through every possible choice for the last square. Thus, I ended up with my first Chessguesser failure so far.

Dell Penny Press publishes free puzzles daily on their website, which is pretty awesome. Here's a link to the logic puzzle from a few days ago that I just solved with pencil/paper. It's nice to get away from the screen for a few minutes to solve something like this the old fashioned way.
