Jimi's version is 2:24 - Sean takes it to above 10 minutes. the first two minutes he's pretty precisely replicating Jimi, but by minute 3 he's taking it away. he's taking Jimi's expression to a new level in deep respect for the great master. all in modern audio quality - and right-handed!
Sean Mann's collection of Hendrix pieces is not exhaustive, but there is Killing Floor and the incredible Bold as Love.
I hadn't expected to find someone who still interprets Hendrix and brings it to new levels (for me).
seldom do I listen to all the long gone great masters in their original version anymore, I enjoy looking for cover versions and variations from a younger generation. Sean Mann really made my day.
