Time to start preparing for April's classes.
140 eggs in 4 sizes: 3, 4, 5 & 6 cms.
All have had a coat of gesso, I'll check tomorrow for any missed spots and then bag 10 for each of the 14 classes.
They'll be decorated with marker pens and stick on crystal tiles

A few more sheep from this month's classes.

We'll definitely be making pompoms again, the residents have loved them.

I learnt today that the bottle tops from school milk was originally card with a hole for the straw, making them ideal for pompoms

Useful large square box filled with different sized brown paper mache eggs

Time to show you some of this week's makes
The pompom sheep have had a great response in the care homes.

Even those that couldn't join in the making enjoyed the texture of the hanks of yarn and fluffiness of the finished sheep

We'll start with some scratch art bookmarks.

As you can see I am a crafter not an artist 😬

The other is an upright sitting cat shape.

June's Residential Care Home Craft Classes

The first activity was pouring paint with finger painting and general paint squidging going on.

The second was using stencils to decorate cards
I don't normal highlight a specific piece but the final image deserves it

Collection of images each of which has a classes worth of poured paint canvases.
Resident had their choice from rainbow colours plus white.Another collection of class images.
Cards stencilled with a range of flower, leaf, insect and bird imagesImage started with a simple flower stencil but the resident continued to cover the card with colour.

Preparing for June's craft classes

The original idea (Oct 23) was "Cameo" but I cannot remember what I planned to do! 🤦‍♀️

But cameo = silhouette ➡️ stencil

The residents can work on square coloured card or blank greetings cards

Here's some pen tests

Time to show what the residents have been crafting this month.

We've had a mix of #Easter projects from colouring, scratch art, string and sewing.

#SeniorCrafting

Part 2 of this month's Residential Care Home Craft Classes is making birthday cards.
I've a big
stack of blank cards, restocked the washi tape, got a mix of felt tips & pencils, various stickers and embellishments.
Can't think of anything I've forgotten

Tomorrow we start on Birthday cards. It's another new project so 🤞

#SeniorCrafting

The new (increased) craft class program starts at the residential care homes tomorrow.

We'll begin the year adding colour by filling the vases we decoupaged last year with tissue paper flowers.

Here are the samples I've made

Last job of the month's admin is putting together the pictures from the Residential Care Home Craft Classes.

Here's a few of the snowflakes/angels we made in December

Got a jam packed year ahead of us with TWENTY FOUR projects planned

The angels have wooden bead heads and ring halos with brushed out string for the robes and wings
The snowflakes are made from silver wrapping paper

I still have one more October class to go but this is a good day to start the annual process of unpacking and dividing Christmas card embellishments for November's residential care homes craft classes.

I REALLY should get a staple remover 🙄

I used to divide the embellishments into poles for individual classes but now we're up to 14 I simplify it into week 1 & 2.
