Pakistan Railways plans to procure 230 modern passenger coaches and 820 Capacity Wagons under the PSDP to enhance train speed. 46 coaches have already bought, rest to be made locally for speeds up to 160km/h. Rail infrastructure improvements include track and signalling upgrades on Main Line-I and the Lahore-Peshawar route. Computer Based Interlocking system installed for safer, faster operations. Employee welfare is ensured with healthcare facilities.
