A newly discovered sea creature species, Clavelina ossipandae, features panda-like markings and a skeleton-like body. Measuring less than an inch (2 centimeters), it gained attention online in 2017 and was dubbed the "Skeleton Panda Sea Squirt." Researchers confirmed its status as a new species through morphology and DNA analysis.
The white parts resemble blood vessels, while black markings on the head resemble a panda's eyes and nose. The scientific name reflects its skeletal and panda-like features: Clavelina for its genus, ossi for "bone," and pandae for its panda-like markings.
