Spring is here. I know, because every year a pair of jackdaws try to build a nest in my chimney, and they can't, as it is too wide.

But logic is not their strongest side, so they arrive with a stick every morning, lose it down the chimney, get another stick which also falls, and another. This goes on for days, until I finally crawl into the attick to place a Bluetooth speaker inside the chimney and let it play the violent song "Colorado Bulldog" by Mr Big.

THEN they give up.
