I have this uncanny ability to remember faces and then to forget the names that go with those faces, and the context in which I first saw them.
Sometimes I see new faces that remind me very clearly of faces I've seen previously. That leaves me wondering when I'd seen the original face and of whom I'm being reminded.
For example, when I first saw Saturday Night Live's Will Forte, he reminded me of someone.
Another example: When one of my grandkids was about 12, they too reminded me of someone.
Shift to present time: I'm watching some Rob Reiner films lately, as one does when one of their celebrity heroes has been senselessly snatched away.
During "Stand By Me," up pops actor Marshall Bell -- playing Mr Lachance, actor Wil Wheaton's father.
Immediately I know THAT'S the guy Will Forte reminds me of.
But wait,there's more.
Young Jerry O'Connell, playing Vern Tessio in the same film, has the face that my 12-year-old grandkid's reminded me of.
Not sure what this means, but at least I got THOSE 2 mystery face loops closed and don't need to obsess about them anymore.
