While working hard to get State of the Browser ready for 28 February 2026, we look back at previous years and the amazing people who have spoken at our event.

Today we want to share Sara Vieira’s talk 'Stop the #divFest' from 2018!

If you're @btconf and want stickers I have @webstandards and #StateOfTheBrowser stickers, I'll be wearing a red hat.

I've been happy w\ for my (mainly) brochure-site CMS needs: I like the interface & expandability. But I want to consider other options: something more 🇬🇧/🇪🇺 & a little less 🇺🇸 for… reasons.

Considering (thanks to sponsorship) & - any advice?

📆 What a wild few weeks! Thanks to those of you who took the time out to watch my #WebComponents talk, and special thanks to the conference hosts for offering me the opportunity to speak:
- @dletorey from @webstandards / #StateOfTheBrowser
- @alexolder from @webdevconf / #WDC2024
- @zeroheight team and #ConvergeUK

If you missed it then I've put together a write up which includes all the resources I mentioned as well as a recording of my talk from State Of The Browser

This is the talk I did at . It's about how we set up @owa , how you can do your own open web advocacy, and why that's important. And about poetry and the Lady of Shalott. I'm quite proud of it, actually. Video, transcript, and slides at kryogenix.org/code/browser/the -- have a watch, and let me know what you think. And if you'd like to see this talk in person, I'm giving it at this weekend as well, and probably offering it to other conferences too.

Interested in speaking at a future or , but not sure where to start? Think you don’t have anything interesting to talk about?

Still reeling from an amazing yesterday! All the talks were wonderful - I’m super inspired to go build something myself again!

Thank you to all the speakers! I can’t wait for the videos of all these talks to share and recommend with folks.

And thanks @dletorey & team for bringing the community together in this way.

What an epic day at #StateOfTheBrowser / #sotb2024!

Everyone’s talks were so good, and it seems people liked my #WebComponents talk too 😅

Thanks @webstandards for hosting and asking me to speak 💚

Hey this fluid typography stuff that @Richr is going on about at is clever! You don’t set font sizes for everything: you define a type scale (so an h1 is 1.2x the size of an h2, etc) for small screens, define a larger one (say 1.33) for big screens, and then css interpolates between the two! I would not have thought of this. See their “Utopia” generator for calculations. utopia.fyi/

Gayle Ngozi from codeyourfuture.io/ at about what CYF do. It’s great to see orgs like this; there are some in Birmingham as well, and it’s great. Web people, find one near you and give them an evening helping out, helping people learn, giving a talk or similar, if you can because it helps make sure that the next generation are good web devs

- the thing around everybody's neck is "not" a floppy disk, it took its name from a 5 1/4 floppy disk. the 3.5 so-called "floppy" disk is not a floppy disk :)

So far information is sparse on specific developer programming (CSS, JS, stacks etc...) but it could very well move into that area. It is informative and sometimes entertaining. First time for me to be at this conference as a web developer.

Maybe the conference next year might like a programming-specific talk or, on someone as a developer with 2 disabilities and how I cope.
