#superstore was a really good show, I can relate to every episode and characters 🤣

PS: The #Superstore #GiftCard helpline did indeed help! I had a small stack of these I'd gotten from meeting minimum purchase thresholds back in the day and had been saving them for a rainy day (or unaffordable inflation like now).

In #Canada, it is illegal for gift cards to expire, so I was shocked when I tried to use one and it wouldn't work … with some behavioural indications that perhaps I had acquired it in a non-legal fashion. 🙄

I was directed to contact the number on the back of the card the next day.

Well, they not only helped me with the one already refused, but we went through my entire stack: turns out they don't keep the serial numbers active in the database indefinitelt(???), and I had to submit photos of the front and back of each (one pic of all cards simultaneously was fine).

They have now all been replaced by digital #doppelgangers that ARE active and next time I go there, I can use them via my phone.

I am thankful they did the right thing with relatively minimal hassle. ❤️

Awaiting in line for my #grocery purchase, I VERY surprised to see a ton of large, sharp kitchen knives for sale hanging on the endcaps of the cashier stations.

I feel as though #Loblaws / #Superstore grossly misunderstand the stresses of the season.

#PSA: perhaps this is already widely known, I have no idea. But I just learned about this last night, and found the experience rather distressing, so I thought I'd share.

If, like me, you have been carefully saving #grocery #GiftCards here in Canada, knowing that they are not allowed to expire under our laws, it is extremely horrifying that when the rainy day comes that you choose to use one, it doesn't work. And the implication is that perhaps you didn't actually pay for the card -- as in, did a little sticky fingering of some sort. 😡

Well, it turns out the grocery card that I got back in the day when #Superstore gave those out for reaching a minimum threshold of grocery purchases are so old that they are NOT in the system database, so the only way to use them is contact the phone number on the back and go through a digital process to have them assessed and then replaced through a digital gift card.

Tl;DR: extra steps may be necessary to activate old(er) gift cards in Canada

Mi serie sin muchas pretensiones del momento está siendo #SuperStore. No llega al nivel de humor de gigantes como Brooklyn 99 o Silicon Valley, pero para llenar una media horita con algo ligero cumple.
El tipo de comedia a veces se pasa con el nivel de vergüenza ajena y me encuentro dándole al avance rápido con los gags que me chirrían. ¿El gran plus? America Ferrera y Ben Feldman se comen la pantalla, la serie y la vida. Tienen una química maravillosa de ver.

(Aunque no voy a engañar y es posible probable que shipee un pelín bastante el Dina/Amy 👀)
