I did something that I wanted to do quite a long time! I skated from Dordrecht Zuid to Lage Zwaluwe. Enjoyed the beautiful views of the Island of Dordrecht (yes, that city is an island!). Moerdijkbrug wasn’t that scary actually, although I didn’t like the joints between the different parts. The road on the south side was hell though, with very rough fine gravel. I did some bonus rounds on the empty car park at Lage Zwaluwe #Suuskate

After 19,5 km of skating, I arrived at Radio Kootwijk #Suuskate

I decided to beat my own depression and went outside in the rain depression. 10,7 km of #Suuskate, and it wasn’t that bad, I kept my average speed at 13,6 km/h ☺️

Another shopping incident: found new bearings for my skates. So, if I destroy my current ones in the rain I can replace them. And because the leaves are gone, I now have no reason to restart skating #Suuskate

It stopped raining a couple of hours ago, so I decided to go for a skate. 10 kilometer, not that long for my doings, and it has been a while since the last proper #Suuskate

But halfway it occurred to me. The light-up wheels are very cool, but the quality isn’t up to par. They are too soft (82A instead of 86A) and the bearings aren’t as good in my other wheels, and I cannot replace those because of the induction mechanism in the wheels. So, they have to be replaced with normal wheels or light up wheels from another brand.

I also started wondering if I should change to bigger wheels, like 110mm instead of 80mm 🤔

I skated just under 25 km today from Rijen via Tilburg to Waalwijk on the bicycle highways of Brabant. Only four traffic lights and one roundabout without priority make this a excellent route for long distance skating 🥰 #Suuskate

Ik ging nog even een rondje skaten. Twee minuten na de eerste foto zag ik iemand op een elektrische step vallen. Behoorlijke wond op het gezicht. Wilde niet dat er een ambulance gebeld werd, wilde geen water maar wel graag bier of een sigaret 🥲

Na een paar minuten is hij weer vertrokken. Toch even blijven staan nakijken. Viel twee bochten verderop weer. Bleef weer liggen. Toch weer gaan kijken. Mocht weer niet bellen. Man vertrok weer. Viel 500 meter verderop weer. Toen maar het normale nummer van de politie gebeld met het verzoek om deze dronken lichtgewonde man te gaan zoeken. Nog een keer erachteraan geskate maar stond nog steeds niet open voor hulp. Inmiddels was het bijna donker en ben ik maar terug naar de tramhalte in Schiedam geskate 🤷‍♀️#Suuskate

Dat skaten uit de poll heb ik dan wel gedaan. Een zeer plezante 13 kilometer, vrijwel geheel door het groen ☺️ #Suuskate

Tijdens de eerste twee kilometer in het park tijdens #Suuskate drie keer op het fietspad opzij gemoeten voor politie met sirenes #Irritant
